I'm in the process of learning how to customize
our Plone 2.1.x installation.

I apologize if the following question is a basic one,
however I've tried a number of things over the last
hour to no avail.

Currently, regular members do not have "smart
folders"
available as an addable type when attempting to add a
new item to their "My Folder" area.

I've tried the following:

 1.   ZMI -> portal_types -> Topics -> Implicitly
Addable

      No difference. Smart Folders still not available as
      an addable type when adding an item to a folder.

 2.   ZMI -> portal_types -> Folder

      Under "Allowed Content Types", I selected
ALL of them
      (including Topics) and checked Filter Content Types.

      After doing so, the "add item" menu for
folders now
      includes quite a few options, however smart folders
      are still NOT available as an addable item.

 3. While logged in as a regular member, under "My
Folder",
      select Add Item -> Settings.

      However, Smart Folders are NOT listed under Addable
Types,
      so there is no point in changing the mode from
"Use Portal
      Default" to "Select Manually".

So, I guess my question here is: How can I enable Smart
Folders
as an addable type to the portal default?

I was fairly sure that Item #1 above would do it, but it did
not.

Do I need to set some additional permissions for 'Topic'
under
portal_types? Does this have something to do with
"Add Portal
Content" permissions?

As a side note, when I log into Plone under the admin
account,
"smart folders" is indeed available as an
addable type.

But NOT when I log in as a regular member account.

So what I'm trying to figure out is how to allow regular
members
to add smart folders.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I'm really in the
first
stage of learning the internals of Plone, and so I also
thank you
in advance for your patience.

Disregard.  Eventually figured it out.

For the /Member folder, had to give "Add Portal
Topics"
permission to the Member role.

Thanks.
