custom .po in Plone2.5

Hello, plone-i18n.

I have trouble with i18n in Plone2.5

I have the custom skin with i18n folder. i18nfolder contains
.po file
that overwrites some Plone's default msgstr's. When I
install the skin
in Plone 2.1.1 all my custom msgstr's work pretty well - I
have my
custom text.But when I install the skin in Plone 2.5 I get
the plone's
default msgstr's. So, seems like my custom .po file has
lower priority
comparing to Plone's default.
So, is there any changes in Plone 2.5 on this? I saw the
PLIP on this
- that says about Plone2.5+ can use Five's mechanism of
strings
translation, but that PLIP also says that the new method has
backward
compatibility. Do I miss anything?

Please advise.

Hi Denis.

If you have a product that wants to overwrite some messages
of an
already existing domain, you cannot put some in the i18n
folder of the
product itself. If this worked in 2.1 it was mere luck ;)
The order in
which the translation files for products are queried is
rather random.

But there is hope  You can
create a i18n folder in your instance home
(the one containing etc, Products and var folders) and put
those files
in there. These are guaranteed to be queried before any
files in any
products i18n folder.
