Newbie: required fields

I POSTED THIS TO THE PLONE LIST:

I would like to change TITLE and DESCRIPTION in content
types to HEADLINE
and DECK, respectively. Plone already uses BYLINE--which
journalists  prefer
over author or creator.

ALEXANDER LIMI SUGGESTED THIS:

The easiest way to do this is to supply an English
"translation" file for  
these. People on the Plone i18n list can probably help you
with this.

It has the advantage of not customizing the templates and
surviving  
upgrades, and is a pretty simple operation once you know how
.po files  
work.

Can anyone help me?
