Hello. I tried running the i18ndude product on Windows
XP and Plone 2.5.1 but the following message appears:
"no python installation found in the registry".
How do
I make the product run? Do I have to download some
python product or such?

Hi.

Python extensions on Windows need to find a Python
installation in the
registry. When you download only Python and install it, it
will register
itself and you can use the i18ndude installer to install it
into that
Python version.

The Zope and Plone installers do install their own Python
version but do
NOT register it, as this would make it harder to use more
than one Zope
or Plone version on the same computer which is a common
use-case.

In your case I would just download the Python Windows
installer and
install an independent Python version with it. The i18ndude
installer
should find this installation and just work.

Note that the latest released version of i18ndude itself
does not rely
on anything in Zope or Plone.

HTH,
Hanno

The latest version of the installers *do* have a shortcut
under Start
-> Plone -> Development to Register/Unregister their
included Python
with the Registry.
