Associate item with document

Hello,
Is it possible to associate a specific item type (in this
case a 
PlonePopoll) with a document?  For example, it would be very
similar to 
how each document has a discussion object except instead of
a discussion 
object it would be a PlonePopoll.  It would be neat if users
could add 
polls to documents.  Any good way to do this?
