Thread: Version Control for Recipes/Skins?

Version Control for Recipes/Skins?

Some time ago, there was a discussion in the pmwiki-users
mailing list of the
possibility of setting up a subversion repository for pmwiki
recipes and
skins, as an aid to those of us who are comfortable with
using a CMS. Did
anything ever come of that?

I ask because I'm now working on my third recipe, and my
first of several
skins, and I'm thinking it would make integrating user
suggestions easier.

No, unfortunately not.

I'd also like some kind of version control system for
uploaded scripts
etc.

No, if only because it's not clear how to get recipes from
the repository into the cookbook whenever they get updated.

However, I'll set up a cookbook directory in the
sourceforge
svn if people are still interested in experimenting with
it.

I'd appreciate that.

Would it be possible to use the svn post commit hook to
auto-update
something on PmWiki.

Thinking off the top of my head:

Recipe pages could optionally have an (:include directive
that showed
the latest commit messages. Subversion could then
update/generate these
pages, via PmWiki, every time an author committed a change.
