Hello everyone, I am getting an error message that seems to
be an old
one. Doing some digging I have become very confused on how
my system
got in this state. First, I am using Ubuntu Gusty with
Postfix 2.4.5.
Ubuntu has not updated to 1.31 yet. When I built out a new
mail server
in late December I ran into the error:
postgreyUse of uninitialized value in split at
/usr/lib/perl5/Sys/Syslog.pm line 123
I found conversations about an older Sys::Syslog version. I
decided to
try something on another Gutsy setup. This one does not
have the error,
postgrey starts and no complaints.
Given that I did some comparing. I found on the goofed up
system that
there are two different locations Syslog.pm. The goofed
system has
/usr/lib/per15/Sys/Syslog.pm and
/usr/lib/perl/5.8.8/Sys/Syslog.pm.
The system I did an install on this morning to see if the
problem was
persistent has only /usr/lib/perl/5.8.8/Sys/Syslog.pm.
How do I get Postgrey to point to
/usr/lib/perl/5.8.8/Sys/Syslog.pm
instead of /usr/lib/per15/Sys/Syslog.pm? I uninstalled and
reinstalled
postgrey. I located and tried 1.31 from Hardy and it gives
the same error.
Thanks,
Guy
