Hi all,
Lousy news. It looks like SIPA, who are hosting libpqxx on
the
thaiopensource.org server, have decided to redirect the DNS
entry for that
server to another site. Several open-source development
projects are now
without a hostname.
We had agreed with several people at SIPA that we could
continue to host
those projects on that site, but apparently the people in
charge of DNS
had not thought that making the host name point to a
different server
would affect these projects. I haven't been able to get
through to the
people in charge of DNS yet, and the only answer I've gotten
so far is
"just use the IP address."
So for now, and until I get this mess resolved, everyone who
wants to
access the site can do so by hardcoding the hostname
thaiopensource.org to
map to the IP address 61.19.242.42. That should make
everything work
again. I'll see if I can get it so that we have a proper http://pqxx.org/
site instead of a redirect to thaiopensource.org.
For the longer term I'll also look around for more reliable
hosting. If
anyone has any suggestions: this is the time to make them!
Jeroen
