Web Developer Position (Boston)

OVERVIEW:

Boston Logic is a privately held young and rapidly growing
technology
and marketing consultancy focusing on IT consulting, web
development,
and online marketing. We are seeking a web developer to help
build,
support, and maintain the websites and web based
applications that we
build and maintain for our clients.

CANDIDATE:

The ideal candidate would be a highly motivated, individual
who has the
ability to adapt and learn quickly as needs arises.  Strong
oral and
written communication skills and an ability to work as part
of a team
are important, as well as a strong interest in technology. 
A desire to
be part of and grow with a startup is a fundamental
requirement for
this position.

QUALIFICAITONS:

Core technologies include PHP, MySQL, Javascript, HTML(hand
code), CSS,
Ruby and the Rails framework,  Apache, Lighttpd, and some
Linux and
Microsoft administration.  The ideal candidate will have
some of these
skills and be willing and excited to continue to learn and
develop
their skill-set.  We will consider training the right
individual.
Previous experience in web programming required.

COMPANY:

busy and
maintain a professional, dedicated working environment. Our

Responsibilities

-Join a growing team of talented developers responsible for

delivering core business applications
-Define and develop templates for TiVo.com and business
applications
-Deliver high-quality and timely results
-Work closely with the business owners, UI design team,
quality assurance, 
and application developers


Experience -
Required Skills

-Minimum 5 years of professional experience
designing/developing dynamic 
page templates in PHP and JSP; PHP 5.0 & 4.0, JSP 2.0
(and older 
1.2)experience
-Expertise in cross-browser, multi-cobrand, accessibility
and browser 
degredation strategies
-Experience with AJAX
-Knowledge of XML, DTD, XSL and OO concepts.
-Stong experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS
-Experience turning annotated Photoshop comps into web
pages; Photoshop 
expertise
-Keen eye for UI and usability issues
-Thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
-Attention to detail
-Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize
workload against 
tight and competing deadlines
-Great interpersonal skills; clear communicator
-Learns quickly
-Passionate about improving development processes at all
stages of project 
development
-Working knowledge Web Trends or other web analytics

Useful Skills

-Familiarity with Flash and ActionScript
-Experience in a Unix/Linux operating system knowledge
-Experience using a CMS system

Education:

-BS Computer Science or equivalent experience
