Messaging systems and PHP

Has anyone ever dealt with a messaging system using PHP?

I need to receive a jms message from a client, put it on the
server and
then pull the values from the server using php.

So far the tutorials i've seen using Mantaray and PHP are
outdated
(mantaray doesn't startup up properly with the configs they
have in the
tutorial)

Any suggestions?
