OT: digest problems?

Hi all,

Sorry that my first post to the list is off topic: I've been
reading the
digest format for a couple of months, but increasingly I'm
finding that when
there is a single message in the digest I get loads of
random (8-bit!)
characters instead of the message.

Is anyone else seeing this, or is it a problem with *my*
mailer?
