 I was wondering if you could forward this to Kevin Smith as
every
time I try to submit a commit a
 comment on his wordpress site, it fails.


 I have built and installed PSI-011-RC1 from source as well
as qca-(
version 2, beta), qca-openssl, qca-gnupg. The building and
installation proceeded well. I have done this on the
following
platforms:
 1)Fedora Core 6-( uname -ar yields: 2.6.20-1.2933.fc6 #1
SMP Mon Mar
19 11:00:19 EDT 2007 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux)
 2)Fedora Core 6-(uname -ar yields: 2.6.20-1.2948.fc6 #1 SMP
Fri Apr
27 19:48:40 EDT 2007 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux)
 3)Fedora Core 5-(uname -ar yields: 2.6.19-1.2288.2.4.fc5 #1
Sun Mar 4
16:09:50 EST 2007 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux)

 The problem is that on platform 1 and 3 in order to get Psi
running I
have to open an xterm and become root. Platform 2 can
execute Psi as
any user and from a toolbar launcher.

 Please note if I use Psi installed via rpm using yum, Psi
works fine
except that this version does not have the openssl and gnupg
plugins.

 Any suggestions on how to fix the root requirement would be
greatly
appreciated.

Maybe he could try Martin's Precompiled Linux build? It is
there
somewhere  on sourceforge IIRC.

Also, maybe a more detailed msg, like what happens when he
tries to
run psi as simple user (whats the error)? Maybe he compiled
it in
someplace where normal users doesn't have perms... or
compiled it as
root and the psi exec was put it /sbin which IIRC isn't in
normal PATH
only of root  ... there are a million mistakes someone who
is
compiling could make.

Maybe he could just try compiling in his own homedir without
doing
make install. This is a all conjecture though, need a
better
description IMHO.
