Hi.

Thanks for the reply. I'm taking the jump and trying to
figure out how to
setup an account, or to use the PSI app to connect to a
jabber
server/channel. My assumtion is that I can talk/interface
with other users
over jabber channels pretty much like I can with IRC.

My question, however, is how/what do I need to do, to setup
an account? Do I
need to setup an account, or rather how do I find a channel
to connect to?
Is there a list of channels somewhere that I've missed?
Ultimately, I'm
going to look to talk to developers/users of jabber...

Thanks

are there channels/sites/etc... where i can post my
questions (however far
reaching they might be!!), and are there places where i
might talk to
developers if i was looking to potentially get a developer.

Fire away, there's more than a couple of devs here.

Hey,

Well congrats then , you have come to the correct app to do
this. Psi
has one of the best service discovery modules. With this you
can
"discover" the rooms etc. you
can join.

Most of this is documented in the wiki.

1. If you want to connect anywhere, first you need a jabber
account. see
http://psi-im.org/wi
ki/Tutorial2 for an initial guide on how to get
your psi working with Jabber, get a new account etc. etc. It
will give
you a little jabber savvy too,

2. After you create an account you can join mucs etc. see
http://psi-i
m.org/wiki/Service_Discovery on how to do service
discovery
http://psi-im.org/wiki/MUC
    on how to use MUC

3. You CAN talk like IRC in MUCs. Infact it is better than
IRC in many
ways (e.g you can see status msgs etc.).
