I think either you've misread it, or I have. The way I read
it, the  
new directory would only be used for new installations; if
the old  
config existed and the new didn't then the old was used.

So, you're saying that
- My (and other loyal psi users) configuration will never
ever end up
in the right place
- Our documentation will always say "First, check if
you have files in
<RIGHT DIR>. If there's no directory there, then go
look at <OLD DIR>"

Sounds to me like being very lazy developers, and causing a
lot of
confusion by being so.
