Hehe. For the record, the goal of SoC is not about making
Psi better
than coccinella (it's impossible anyway, Coccinella being
the
greatest client in the world evah), it's about having
people do OSS
development. I think Jinlge FT is a good example of this:
it's a
feature that is not on a wishlist of any client, but is a
great
project to do nevertheless. And, although not required, this
project
even has aspects that are (indirectly) interesting to the
community.

Anyway, I think we can be quite happy with the SoC results.
Except
for one, these are all contributors without any history of
Psi
contrib, which i think is the goal of it altogether. And
it's good to
hear that Psi is the most popular target for OSS Jabber
client
development.

cheers,
Remko

I think this may have more to do with the languages involved
than
anything else; there's a lot of C++ knowledge in the world
but far
far less erlang and TCL/Tk.

TCL/Tk is one of the many languages which was forced on us
in
university, so it's not like people aren't learning it,
it's more
that people are repulsed by it (the language, and the look
of any
application which is crapped out of it. )

Erlang does need more exposure, though.

Wish they could lose a few {}'s in the syntax though. I
read up on
erlang when I'd first heard of ejabberd. The baked in
high-availability stuff is pretty compelling.
