Hi All,
http://kdewebdev.org/
donate.php

I'm experiencing some frustration right now. Our largest
contributor is
unusually late with a quarterly contribution and our user
sponsorship has
been drifting lower. I'm also experiencing personal
financial issues making
it hard to cover this. My business is being forced to back
order our highest
dollar volume wholesale product, our retail has been cut to
1/3 expectations
due to the luck of the draw on weather and pretty much
everyone we know seems
to need us to bail them out one way or another. As a result
I have no
resources or cash cushion with wish to take care of Andras.
I'm very behind
now, owing him at least two months. My personal financial
situation will
change dramatically over the next 60 days as my two new
wholesale account
managers start bringing in business, but for now I'm playing
catch up.

http://kdewebdev.org/
donate.php

I know a lot of people using our software get a lot of
benefit from it.
Typically when I write on the list I get maybe 10-20 people
contributing
smaller amounts and some jumping in for hundreds off
dollars/Euros. That
would sure be wonderful right now as I'm tired of not
sending Andras what I
owe him, and the same goes for Michal. I'd really like to do
a lot more fun
things for the upcoming KDE 4, but first is stop stressing
over sponsored
developer support.

BTW for those of you who are curious about my health I am
now back to the gym
nearly two months. My high bloodpressure is now low enough I
can lower
medication and using resprate I will probably be off
meds shortly. Because
of my health efforts I now look and feel great at 50, which
nobody believes I
am and my 2001 drivers license picture looks like a bad fake
ID. I mention
all this since for over a year I had trouble concentrating
and focusing and I
had headaches. Now I'm working on my mental discipline and
ready to get a lot
more involved in the project. There are fun things I want to
do.

Thanks to all who have supported us in the past and to all
who will support us
now and in the future. We love making great software for
you!

Hi Eric

There seems to be a small problem with the page. I want to
donate in Pound
Sterling, but each time I choose 'Pound Sterling', it
reverts back to USD,
and when I click the PayPal button it shows USD as well.

Is there any other way to pay in Pound Sterling?

Oops! Thanks for pointing that out. We just moved to a new
server and it may
not be correctly using the arrays instead of the old style
variable naming.
Give me a few minutes as all the access is different.

Something strange is also happening for me. When I go to
the page, all
the donate amounts are zero (0.00). This is for all amount
selectors
on all types of donations.

The currency selector is set to US.

If I change it to anything else, then change it back its all
well.

Bill

In case anyone is interested we saw one new sponsor and less
than $100 in
total donations/sponsorship payments from this appeal. While
we usually see
much more I do not want to hold an expectation or overtax
those who have been
so very generous in the past. To those who contributed I
want to express my
appreciation. I need to look at why I'm not getting the
emails to send thank
you notes. But that's another story.

I should do a fund raising drive on the dot, but if anyone
else feels a
compelling need to help financial support our sponsored
development it would
still be very much appreciated. I personally have had great
financial demands
lately and will not be in a position to cover shortfalls for
the near term
future. We are definitely experiencing some financial
discomfort at the
moment. While I appreciate a couple more contributors I
hardly expect them to
address our full need.

I don't really enjoy fund raising, but we benefit greatly
from having a full
time programmer. Nobody should feel pressured because
helping to make a
project happen really is a fun thing and something you can
feel good about.
Anyone else feel like it's their turn to step up?

Wow, and thanks to Nico Meijer for pointing out fixing
multiple currencies
left a silly bug there. Fixed. Thanks so much Nico for
reminding me to fully
test. No currency selected mucked up the numbers until you
selected one. :(

I had tried several earlier but the page was broken. It
appears to be
working now. At least Pay-Pal with USD was.
