Seth,
As a previous paying customer of RedHat I must say they
never ever had a
road map for rpm, at least not one that was published. I
know because I
asked for one over and over again, and not from Jeff
Johnson, but rather
through more official channels.
What RPM has needed for a long time is someone to think
through how to
take it to the next level in features and usability and the
courage to
do it. Unfortunately, from what I have seen this seems to
be a very
contentious area; and people with very large egos on both
sides seem to
thrash of very small issues, and thus progress is not made.
