Hi there, ive been using eclipse for some good 4 years now, however since switching to mac 3 years ago its performance and stability is quite unstable. Its workspace will frequently crash requiring me to reset my workspace nearly ever 2 weeks and is extremely unproductive. Let me know what else people use as I have no confidence in this program anymore. Still waiting for it to load with runaway thread processes, quitting or stopping jobs when loaded doesnt help either sometimes causes the crashed workspaces !

Just a quick note to new Eclipse users here that might help in stabilizing things up. Yes plugins may cause instability but there's also the way Sun's JVM is handling memory. Appending these VM parameters to your Eclipse command line greatly reduce Eclipse crashes.

-vmargs -Xms512m -Xmx512m -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m
