    I would think the number of threads is too high.
Mina is supposed to work best with a low number of threads.
This definitely needs more investigation.

 Could you give more details about network layout? How many client machines
 were you using for test?

 And it would be better if you could provide your test client to us so that
 we can reproduce this issue and find the root cause quickly.
