Hi,
I'd like to vote on new app structure proposal, because it's
been a
while nobody adds new comments to the thread:
http://jira.red5.org/c
onfluence/display/appserver/3rd+proposal+or+Searching+the+Ho
ly+Grail
Please note, that last Joachim's comment counts in.
So how do you like it, are we moving on with it?
+1 from me.
Regards,

Dominick,
I think this is a subject for 0.7 because this would hold up
some other
API improvements, I know you're working on Spring Security
(formerly
Acegi) integration, I think there's need to discuss default
context and
what security settings should be added there.
There's also one more interesting proposal on scripting from
Luke and it
affects Spring context, too. So we need to act coordinated.

I think that we'd better not take the internal structure of web content into account. Please see my comment on Confluence.
And we also need to define a structure that are suitable to all kinds of apps -- app that includes both scripts and Java classes.

I think java apps should be deployed by adding the jar or
classes in
the correct servlet defined directory. Why? Because
otherwise we need
to get into setting custom classpaths dynamically for
webapps,
possibly even setting up class loaders etc. Thats a route
which will
lead to increasing complexity and all sorts of problems with
deployments on different servlet containers.
IMHO, keep it simple, follow the servlet spec, wack the jar
in libs.
We should not be aiming for any serious sub webapp
isolation.
