Hi all,
Terracotta is a clustering solution for Java and is now open sourced. I haven't dug deep but from the demo video it's very very cool and we may leverage it for our server clustering solution.

Here's the link for the news. FYI
http://terracottatech.com/press_12_04_06_oss.shtml

I dont know much about it either, but I was reading about it
and the
announcement yesterday and i sounds like a really big deal.
It sounds
like it basically takes your JVM and clusters it
transparently. There
are versions for pojos, spring, and sessions.

Yep, it sounds that no changes are needed for the adoption and deployment.

Is this not a container's responsibility? Where would
Terracotta be
usefull for RED5?

Load-balancing, fail-over etc. All clustering features that Red5 needs.

This would be part of the "full" version of red5
as opposed to the war
version. The full version of red5 will include a container.
So it is
indeed just a packaging issue, but having packaging and
instructions
that make it dirt simple to scale would be great for red5
users.

Regards,
Hank.
