Sys Admin in a
Solaris, Novell Linux and Red Hat environment. I don't know
which
certification exam to prepare and take. Any comments or
comparisons
(differences) to the following certifications?
- Sun certified System Administrator
- Sun certified Security Administrator
- Sun certified Network Administrator
- Novell certified Linux Engineer
- Novell certified Linux Professional
- Red Hat certified Engineer
- Red Hat certified Security Specialist
Its important to have good study guides and must be valuable
for HR
people.

Of Sun and Red Hat (I don't know Novell), Red Hat is hands
on, Sun is
only written exams. As mentioned already, RHCE is the #1 of
the above
list. I believe it is in the top 3 of CCIE (Cisco), Oracle
certs, and
Red Hat. All of these are certs that require that you prove
that you
know what you are doing, not just regurgitate info.
Security Specialist requires RHCE as a prerequisite as does
RHCA.
Same is true for the Sun certs, must have Sys Admin before
Network
Admin. I am uncertain of the requirements for Security
Admin, but I bet
it requires Network Admin.
