I was wondering if you choose virtualization, it only seems to install the xen kernel. Is it not a choice to use the regular kernel, and only have the xen kernel installed in case you decide to create a virtual host someday?

also vi /etc/grub.conf
default = ....
if you already have both kernels installed

You misunderstand, a non-xen kernel doesn't get installed. I
have the
same thing on CentOS.

The latest systém I installed was RHEL 5.1 server. I chose
"virtualization" as an install option and it
installed both Xen and non-Xen kernels, defaulting to Xen
kernel. And even if it would not, you can always install the
non-Xen kernel after the installation of RHEL finishes.

Daniel

Hi all,
I tried to update our RHEL 5.1 because there are a lot of

Since the file is the config file from the package (same
file) I would
backup the config file and install with the force option
(--force) for
this package only. I would then recommend that you file a
bug report
with the package maintainer. This is an issue with the way
the RPM was
built.

I renamed the file and tried to uninstall the old package
first, but
this is now since 1 hour in cleanup mode, nothing happens.
I don't want to cancel the software remove but I think it
hangs.
What can I do to cleanly remove the old version, install the
new one
and try the yum update with all the other packages again?
Thanks a lot
Rene
