redhat enterprise linux audio and video

i hav installed redhat enterpise edition linux 8.x.im a
novice user in
linux.

when i boot my system in KDE mode i get a message that my
sound server
has some error called "ioctl" and it says that
my sound server ll work
with null output.i cant hear any music and couldnt view any
video
files.i hav a inetl 915 MB with pentium 3.0g processor.
i hav installed win XP in dual mode..
anybody help me plz...............
