Dear All,
We had a server running FC4..
One day due to some stupid mistake on my side I fscked the /
partition.
As we did not have FC4 disks in hand.. FC4 was not available
at places
we searched, I installed a RHEL4.
The problem is that the /var was a separate partition and it
contains
data.. So during installation i did not select the /var
partition and
manually mounted /var.
Now comes the problem..
rpm -qa reflects packages of FC4 and not RHEL.. As a result
if i try to
install any of the rpms of RHEL not selected during
installation i get
dependency errors.. Is there any way to fix this without
reinstallation
of he server.
I have downloaded FC5.. I don't mind if i have to install
rpms of FC5
instead of RHEL..
Can anyone please help.. I want to at the most run PHP on
Apache.. and
PHP is not installing due to all this conflicts..(I see the
source of
PHP instead of the Preprocessed HTML Page
Regards,
Fork Daemon
