I've been hearing about licorice root and rosacea. I love black
licorice! Does anyone know if eating good quality black licorice
could have anti-inflammatory benefits? Like the type from Germany
(not the really salty kind though).

It would be a terrific reason to indulge.

Here's hoping,

Hi!

Perhaps that would depend on whether or not there is much sugar added.

Personally, I think small twin-packs of chocolate are far tastier and
ultimately better for the health, but that's just imho.

Kind regards,

Aurelia

Wow! FINALLY somebody else that likes black licorice! I thought I was the only one! Actually I pretty much like any of the colors/flavors (except cherry) though black is my favorite. Whoops! Is this going to go the way of the chocolate discussion? ellen

I too love black licorice - I would choose it over chocolate at least on most days. I loved
licorice ice cream as a child (at the time my lactose intolerance wasn't so bad that I
couldn't have some ice cream). In Sweden, when we visited, they had both salty and non-
salty licorice ice cream.

Anyway, I just wanted to post for the love of licorice, but also because my naturalpath told
me to drink licorice tea. I posted this below - I just can't drink cold things. I know that
most with rosacea are supposed to avoid hot drinks but there is no way I can drink enough
if I have to drink cold things. She said that I exhibited signs of adrenal fatigue (I had the
symptomatic low blood pressure) and she said that licorice tea would be good for me.

Somehow all of my issues seem somewhat related and if it helps your adrenal glands get
moving better - it might help the rosacea. Anyway, it is tasty and since I can't have coffee
with cream ... and there is no sugar unless you add it with the tea - of course it isn't quite
like eating the sugary kind, but it is good.

Take care,
Tamara T
