Hey all,
First, thank you all for providing information and sharing your valuable
experiences. Now I would like to share my experience, followed by my
questions regarding Lumenis One and the red LED lamp.
My Experience with Lumenis One. I tried one treatment with Lumenis One
during my visit for relatives in China this summer on my nose and it did
improve somehow (good news for my first try). Actually, the doctor used YAG
in the Lumenis One machine. I have stopped any treatment for rosacea for
several years until I found this group 8 months ago. Then I resumed my
treatment with rosacea in USA and have been using metrogel 1% and Finacea
15% for about half a year now and my rosacea is under control. My rosacea
is between mild and moderate. The biggest problem for me is that I have had
the skin problem for about 14 years and now my chin is red with papules (may
be due to the aggregated results of long-time rosacea problem) and small
visible red veins on my nose (esp. on the sides of my nose). I also tried
exercise, flax oil, blueberry, vitamin C suggested by the members in this
group from time to time. I am glad that my rosacea is under control (at
least does not become worse). Considering the good result from the only
treatment with Lumenis One I have had in China and the information suggested
here, I think that I am a good candidate for Lumenis One and would like to
try more. The problem is that in Arizona Dr. Soldo only considers doing a
whole set of 5 treatments with a total price of $2,500.00, rather than
charges on a one by one basis. $2,500 is a lot money for me as a graduate
student now and I hope to do one by one so that I will know how it processes
(I know that most said that the improvement can be seen after 3 or 4
treatments). Actually one treatment in China for my nose is only about
$100.00 (it seems that some doctors in China ask for the price based on the
size and/or area of the place to be treated). So the price difference is
huge between China and USA. The problem for me is that I have to wait at
least another year to go to China and if so, I can only do at most 3
treatments during my next summer trip. Do your guys know if any doctors
within Arizona who will charge less and/or charge on each treatment basis (I
live in Tucson)? I know Dr. Sodo is one of the best but it seems that the
machine of Lumenis One plays a more important part in this regard, if you
are a good candidate for Lumenis One. I am open for any suggestions and
comments.
Red LED Lamp. I did not have any experience with any red led lamp. After
some research, I think the red LED lamp might help me because now the
biggest problem is the red papules on my chin. The papules are only under
control but did not have much improvement. However, my chin and the small
visible red veins on my nose have improved. Can some members here with
successful experiences with red LED lamp provide more information regarding
the brand name, price, link, the best/better one for different kinds of
rosacea, as well as best/better combination of LED lamp and other
treatments. I believe that I and some members will greatly appreciate the
information.
Best,
David
