Hi Vicky,

Can I ask what drew you to Lever 2000 soap? It just seems unusal and I am curious as to how you made a connection that this could be helpful to you. I thought it was a fairly harsh body soap. Is there something it contains that peeked your interest?

Thanks,
Elena

hey pete...
Have you considered your rosacea may have something to do with the
Demodex mite? I was having the same problem, allergy like symtoms..
runny nose watery eyes not to mention the constant itching... I
discovered that working on my immune system using vitamin c that the
runny nose has subsided.. I have also been using vitamin c topically..
WARNING doing this does definately burn and tingle at first, but the
results for me have been amazing.. I'm also using asprin disolved in
witch hazel...

This is what I do:

1)wash face with a very soft wash cloth and lever 2000 bar soap. Not
the liquid stuff.. I leave on my face for no less than 60 seconds.. At
first this may burn a bit

2)tone face with witch hazel/asprin mixture... 2 asprin to a tablespoon
of witch hazel.. use all over you face, allow to dry... I even used it
this morning on poison ivy that my cat gave to me... lol it worked
great... no itching

3)apply a good moisturizer... something without propolyne glycol...
that stuff is poison and makes my face tomato red...

4)I also crush vitamin c into a very fine powder.. you can buy the
powder either online or at your local pharmacy... if the pharmacy
doesn't have it on the shelf, talk to the pharmaracist, it can be
order.. but for right now, I'm just using what I have available at
home.. vitamin C 1000 mg tablets crushed... I use a cosmetic brush that
I use to apply the powder... definately use a brand new brush that
hasn't been already used.. they can be purchase anywhere that cosmetics
are sold... get the cheapest one... or have mom or a sister pick it
up... sometimes it hard for guys to buy these things... it's ok... lol

I also take 5000 mg of vitamin C by mouth... divide the doses up and
take with food to avoid stomache problems. I've also started taking
fish oil 3 times a day...

I know it seems like alot... but after a week, I'm very impressed with
my skin.. I have a few marks that at first were a very deep red when I
started this, that have faded to a very light pink....I haven't had a
new eruption in the last 5 days and that one was very short lived...

I know this is going to sound strange, but I also used dog shampoo for
fleas and ticks that contain permethrin on my hair... I found that by
using all of this stuff on my face, I had chased the little bugs into
my hair...
The shampoo didn't work.... so this morning.. I just washed my hair
with the Lever 2000...left it on no less then 60 seconds... and then
rinsed really well... it's not really hair friendly... but so far I
haven't scratched my head...

I tried an experiment to find out if DEMODEX was my problem... I
applied a heavy cooking oil on my skin and waited 10 minutes, the oil
will cut off their oxygen and force them to surface....after the 10
minutes, I smoothed my hand from chin upwards toward my temple.. I felt
a very grainy substance... when I looked at my hand, I had hundreds of
yellowish/white lint like particles on my hand... under a microscope, I
could see the head, body and legs of what closely resembled Demodex...

If you try anything that I've mentioned, keep in mind that your
condition may seem like it's getting worse at first.. but if you hang
with it, you may have the same results... let me know... good luck!!!

Vicky

Hi Elena,
I just happened to be experimenting with different soaps... I had
been using emu oil soap which had been working fine. It had been
controlling the redness as well as all of the pesky bumps.. I don't
know if the company had changed formulation but all of the sudden I
started feel a horrible crawling feeling on my face and the bumps
started coming back... this was overnight. That's how I determined
the mite problem... my decision to try Lever 2000 is because that the
best soap that I have found that will control my hubby's severe dry
skin. It was just a thought while I was getting ready to wash my face
one day, I realized that the skin on the rest of my body looked alot
better that the skin on my face so I decided what the hey.. I've
tried worst on my face.. (dog shampoo for fleas... ugh.... it worked
but really stripped my face, it was great on my hair though. I had
the softess, shiniest hair... lol)
So to answer you question, that's the reason that I tried it... I
never felt any burning or stinging and I was finally getting rid of
that constant itch.. I really didn't think it would work, but today
is day 11 and no new breakouts... and my face has lost that hot
feeling.. What I have read about the Demodex mite is that the bumps
are a result of the female laying numberous eggs in one hair
follicle.. up to 25 I've read so far.. the itch is generally in the
evenings which is when they surface to mate... (pleasant thought,
huh?)
I know that this is a book, and I do apology... I'm just oh so very
happy that I may be able to face the world without make up... And I
want to share it... I have had absolutely no problems yet.... no
flakiness... I'm thinking that is do to with either the asprin and
witch hazel or the vitamin C inside and out!
I hope that answered your question...

Good luck too you!!!

Vicky
