Hi Kenne,

I'm actually on only 50mg doxy per day, but my problem is not with the typical side effects
but that the doxycycline actually gave me pill-induced esophagitis (i.e., a bad burn in my
throat) and now I can't swallow it. Instead, I'm taking a syrup form now, but it still seems
to bother my sensitive throat (or maybe I just have a weird reaction to Doxy). Either way,
there's no way I can take it. But if the macrolides are very strong, I worry that the side
effects there may be even worse. Hmpf..... Heard anything about ampicillin?

Thanks so much,
Elyse

Tetracycline works well. Have you considered that? It works better for
me than doxycycline for some reason. I just started 250mg per day and
am backing off topicals. It will take about a month to have an effect.

Cheers!
