But if it doesn't work for you I really recommend using the
rsync_with_remote_cache plugin. Install and usage details
are here:

noRsyncWithRemoteCache
Even though this plugin still checks out a fresh copy from
your
repository, for some reason it doesn't trigger the error.
Also if you
are working on a large project but only making incremental
changes, this
speeds up the deployment because you are only uploading
changes to you
project.
