looking for a rails host that have ffmpeg installed. found
out that some
hosting companies dont allow that softwar on their system.
any reliable
rails hosts already have that installed?

Dreamhost appears to have, at least when I log in

We have many customers running ffmpeg.

If you'd like to scale your application with ffmpeg,
however, I'd  
*highly* recommend using Amazon's excellent SQS+EC2 services
for that  
part of your application.

The folks are RightScale are absolutely experts at that sort
of  
integration.

Hi Tom, I am new to adding services to a rails app. upon
reading some 
overview of the sqs+ec2, does this mean my rails app will
upload the 
video to an s3 account, and pass it to sqs to do the actual
file 
conversion of video? that way, my rails app process are not
tied up?
