This is in 0.9.1, affecting both JRuby and Ruby...

~ $ gem list --remote -p <proxy address>
ERROR:  While executing gem ... (NoMethodError)
     undefined method `[]=' for
#<Gem::ConfigFile:0x108874c>

I've done absolutely no investigation. It appears that []=
is not (any 
longer) defined for Gem::ConfigFile. I'm swamped today and
can't 
investigate any further, but it's pretty easy to reproduce

gem --debug list --remote -p <proxy address>

Then open a ticket on the tracker.
