Hi Damian,
When I try to send an offline message using my gmail jabber
account I
receive Message delivered event, but I think that the
message is not
delivered. And something more, I receive after that a
message received
event which contains the same text as the sent one. What do
you think is
the problem?
Regards,
Yana

Yana,
I think gmail does not suport offline messages.
You should test on some other jabber server.

Yes I was just going to test and implement offline messages
in SC.
But I have other problem about deliver notification of
messages.
I'm wandering does every server offers this extension?
I will search a way to check this, maybe with the
ServiceDiscoveryManager of the smack lib.
Maybe I can also check does server support offline messages
through it.

Hi,
Thanks Nick! This explains why it's not working.
However this is not a normal behavior even if gmail doesn't
support
offline messages. As I'm working on the user interface I'm
looking for
an indication that this feature is not supported by the
protocol to
inform the user that this operation is not possible.
Regards,
Yana

Yes it would be good to let the user know that the message
was not
delivered. We could throw an OperationFailedException in
such cases.
