Hey all,
Here is a little survey that may help me to determine what
presence
states I'll implement in SIMPLE.
As an instant messager user, what are the presence status
that you use ?
Personnaly, I use online, offline, away and less frequently
busy and
on-the-phone.
What about you ?
Ben

Hi Ben,
Beside the mandatory online/offline, I often use busy and
sometimes
"do not disturb".
Cheers,
romain

Hi Ben,
My $0.02 on this:
as far as I can remember, I've used the following statuses
(in order
of importance) : offline; online; invisible; do not disturb;
away and
"out to lunch". I think that "feeling
chatty" may also be a nice
state. Maybe even a nice little "be-right-back"
(brb).
I'm not sure about the usefulness of the
"on-the-phone" state (I
should say that I've never used it), because when the phone
rings I'd
generally answer it right away (and not try to click an
option
somewhere - moreover if the conversation lasts for more than
a
reasonable amount of time, an auto "away" mode
should do the same work).
Regards,
Alex

Hi Ben!
1. online
2. offline
3. on the phone (Since SC is also a VoIP software I
believe that to
be important, could be triggered automatically)
4. Do not Disturb
regards
Martin

Hey Ben,
Outside of the standard on and off line, I think away is
necessary, but
I really appreciate the automatic idle status just because
if I'm
genuinely busy or I go to do something, I often just do it
without
thinking to put up an actual status.
