| Seeking Advice on Forthcoming PPC
Whitepaper |
  United States |
2007-03-12 14:46:24 |
Hey everyone:
Our company (Hanapin Marketing) is going to be launching a
new blog
that focuses on everything and anything pay-per-click
related. To
launch the blog with a bang we are going to publish our
first white
paper, 'Welcome to the Panama Jungle'. This handbook will
discuss the
ins and outs of navigating Yahoo's new PPC interface. So,
where do you
come in? We thought since Panama is frequently discussed in
SEM 2.0,
then perhaps a few of you would be interested in reviewing a
pre-
publication copy of the handbook and letting us know what
you think.
Your feedback would be greatly appreciated! Please just drop
me a line
and I would be more than happy to drop you a copy of the
handbook.
Thanks for your time!

IMHO this is not a good way to start a thread; it's not a
topic, it's
self-promo.
I've explained my reasoning to John off thread. Self-promo
only in a
brief signature, please.
If the forum is used only for pulling people off the forum
for your
own purposes, I'll be blunt:
the forum dies because it's no longer about discussion.
Please inject
content rather than
just using it as a place to recruit, sell, promote, etc. We
carefully
hand-picked 1,300 of the
finest smartest forum members in the world for their keen
sense of
forum decorum... let's
keep it that way.

So I've received a nice note from DarkMule on this topic. I
tend to
overreact to these
things because of the difficulty it is in weeding out
"spam"
contributions from any of
these forums nowadays.
A little gentle self-promo is of course the norm. Lately a
lot of new
posters have done
"drive-bys" without really contributing here, so I
felt I needed to
remind DarkMule of where
the line lies.
All I'm saying is we want contributions! And thanks DarkMule
for
understanding.

Great. Now that we've got that cleared up, hopefully we can
get some
more answers on that poker / porn in SEM topic!

I agree, this group is for discussion only...I once was
involved in
SEO forum which initially was discussion only and once self
promotion
was allowed, it went downhill... Having Andrew who is at the
top in
this industry moderate a forum is like having Richard
Branson coaching
you on how to start and run a company...it doesnt get any
better than
this.
