Hi,
This project sort of stalled for lack of direction &
time from myself
and other moderators. While a wiki should embrace an open
model, a
group of search marketers can be particularly crafty in
creating spam
pages, so some oversight and a formal policy seems
warranted. We had
felt that a small number of pages would be started to set a
tone and
example for the growth of the wiki, but no one seemed to
have the
time.
I am open to circling back to generate policies &
"initial pages", but
more importantly, towards finding a group of initial
volunteers that
might build out some of the initial beta. While I do believe
that a
wiki is a wiki and that an open model works, it doesn't
work
chaotically. There is a high probability of spam etc. if we
don't get
it off on a sound footing. Perhaps what is needed is a
longer list of
volunteers beyond the initial planning committee. Those
volunteers
would not only promise to build a page or two but to
actively oversee
the growth of the wiki to ensure that no one is abusing it.
Thoughts?
