We are seeking to fill the following roles:
Software engineers (all levels) who have at least one year of
experience developing database-driven web applications using Java and
agile/lean methodologies. Candidates must have a technical degree,
possess strong object-oriented analysis and design skills, demonstrate
good customer service orientation, and work effectively in a
fast-paced team environment (virtual and collocated). Preference will
be given for experience in the following areas:
- Relational database design and SQL
- Testing frameworks (e.g. JUnit, Cactus, Fitnesse)
- Struts or comparable web application framework
- Hibernate or comparable object-relational mapping framework
- J2EE application containers (JBoss and Tomcat preferred)
- Enterprise application architecture
Systems administrator/engineers to support our product and development
environments. Candidates must have experience in installing,
operating, and maintaining open source application stacks, including
RedHat Linux, Apache web server, MySQL or PostgreSQL, and LAMP
applications. Preference will be given for experience in the following
areas:
- LAMP or Java application development
- Production environment issues (e.g. security/hardening, HA/clustering)
- Network and database management
- Java software development and production environments
User experience/web developers to us create the most unique and
enjoyable user experience available by keeping our user interface
innovative and our data displays on the edge. Candidates must have 2+
years experience in one or more of the following areas: web design
using CSS and XHTML/Javascript, graphic design, UI design, and
information architecture. Proficiency in Flash and ActionScript a
must. Cooperatively work with the back-end server-side development
team to develop a highly adaptable front-end UI based on
content/presentation separation design principles. Preference will be
given for experience in the following areas:
- Product design
- Scientific visualization
- Media editing and encoding experience
- Adept with relevant design and prototyping software including
Adobe/Macromedia products (Photoshop, FreeHand, Illustrator, Dreamweaver)
- JSP, JSTL, and Struts taglibs
