Job Summary

 

We are looking for experienced engineers with proven experience and expertise in developing common infrastructure/platforms used to build and deliver a variety of related applications. The supporting framework/infrastructure is expected to provide a very rich end user experience and extensive configurability at the administration and end user level.

 

Team members will be responsible for designing and developing MobiTVR17;s next generation framework/infrastructure using the latest technology to ensure scalable and performing delivery of leading application functionality including interactivity, advertising and able to cover a very broad set of mobile handsets.

 

Job Responsibilities 

• Design product features and write high level and detailed design documents for framework level components. This framework will be used as the building block to create a variety of MobiTV applications.
• Very closely interface with application teams to ensure that the platform satisfy the applications requirements and timelines
• Actively participate in and contribute to product design and/or product feature discussions and/or meetings within Engineering and other groups
• Work closely with the rest of the team to ensure proper architecture decisions are reached in ensuring adequate handset and server coordination activities. 
• Develop algorithms that are efficient, maintainable, extensible, easy to understand, and according to best development practices.
• Work closely with QA team to help define proper testing techniques and plans, correct product defects and assist QA engineers in some types of testing.
• Assist the Deployment, Operations, and Sales teams with the investigation and resolution of customer issues
• Work closely with technical writers to ensure detailed product documents are maintained
• Implement best engineering practices to make MobiTV a best in class engineering organization 

Qualifications

• Excellent technical background in J2EE / Java and SOA / Web Services technologies
• 5+ years Java programming background on J2EE/J2ME and experience in the full software development cycle building framework/core components
• Thorough knowledge of Web technologies and architectures including Web servers and J2EE ; Application Servers
• Knowledge of mobile and multimedia technologies
• Understanding and appreciation for very high quality code and associated best practices such as code reviews, JavaDoc, JUint, proper logging, instrumentation, regression suites, etc.
• Experience programming highly robust, scalable platforms is required
• Experience in building J2EE Enterprise/e-Commerce Server Infrastructure
• Experience in tuning Web applications for performance and scalability
• Experience with networking protocols such as HTTP, TCP/IP, SOAP is a plus
• Must have been a core member of a highly successful product development team major architectural and programming contributions
• Experienced as a team leader with strong technical, leadership and interpersonal skills desirable
• Solid communication skills, creative problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong time-management and independent-judgment skills required
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Must be enthusiastic and work well with others.
