Here is a new position with a large media company in
Seattle.
POSITION SUMMARY
As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer you will be
extensively involved in testing and validation of
various projects developed by various teams within the
Media Systems department. The Media Systems department
consists of several teams responsible for building
many of the various platform components that are in
use throughout the many business units.
The main focus of this position will be testing and
validation of many types of applications, including
client and server software, web user interfaces,
and/or native Windows-based applications. Additional
areas of responsibility include generating test plans
and test cases, defining and contributing to
repeatable testing methodologies and frameworks,
testing and validation of client/server functionality,
and managing testing resources, equipment and
demonstration systems.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager for the Content
Protection / Publishing and Content Management groups,
you will contribute to the QA process and tools
selection for a variety of QA related tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
· Comprehensive understanding of the software QA
engineering process
· 6+ years of QA testing experience, with at least 3
years experience testing Windows GUI and server-based
applications through at least one major release cycle.
· At least two years experience testing client/server
applications.
· Strong ability to define and write test cases.
· Demonstrable experience defining and implementing
repeatable testing frameworks
· Ability to anticipate, identify and articulate
problem areas and develop preventative solutions
. Ability to work with a high degree of independence
on projects with little or no precedence
· Proven experience in identifying the relationship of
bugs to software code
· Experience restoring and maintaining SQL Server
databases
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
experience in field
SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
. Writing test plans and test cases
· Demonstrable experience defining and implementing
repeatable testing frameworks and test cases
· Experience with test and automation frameworks is a
strong plus
· Strong technical background with experience in white
box and black box testing
· Windows 2003, 2000 & XP
· Java J2SE/J2EE and C#/C++ experience are a plus
· Strong understanding of Internet protocols
· Ability to restore and maintain SQL Server databases
