Job Overview:  Hands on manager; this position is 75% development and 25% management.

Manage and be a member of a small development team that will deliver the next generation multi-tenant Business Intelligence Platform using advanced Data Mining, Data Warehousing & Visualization technologies for the Travel & Expense Industry. You will transform reports into actionable intelligence that will optimize Business decisions and processes for our clients

 

Responsibilities:

  • Primary point of contact between development group and PM group at project instantiation

·         Manages developer resource allocation on the project level

  • Develops and initiates proper development processes that fit within the division wide project life-cycle

·         Works with other groups to ensure that developer input is available and used in various stages

·         Organizes code review sessions at a high level (style, schedule, etc.)

  • Handles personnel related issues from developers (salary, promotions, goals, coaching, development, etc)
  • Accountable for team performance and achieving objectives.
  • Creates an environment of accountability.

·         Use computer programming languages, software tools, and software development environments to code, modify, and maintain programs

·         Analyze internal development process and make recommendations for changes

·         Review Marketing and Development documents to estimate time necessary for project completion

·         Provide feedback on functionality requests regarding feasibility and complexity

·         Serve as mentor to less-experienced developers

·         Reviews projects to verify accuracy and effectiveness of coding

·         Be aware of, and comply with, all corporate policies.

 

Qualifications

Education, Experience & Training required:

·         BSCS, BSEE, or equivalent years of work experience.

·         7+ years in a software development. 

·         Effective communication skills, focusing on presentation of technical information.

·         Two years in a Supervisory or lead role.

  • Ability to pass a background check.

 

Job Specific Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong ability in database design and programming with T-SQL using SQL Server platforms
  • Experience in data mining, data warehousing, or business intelligence
  • Experience with SQLServer Intergation Services, Analytics Services and Reporting Services
  • Familiarity with ERP and/or financial reporting systems a plus
  • Knowledge of software design in developing WEB applications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software tools, documentation process, and development process.  Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and translate the requirements into software designs
  • Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining solutions
