Hi,
I'm a software
developer at Speakeasy and I want to let you know about a great opportunity we
have here. We're just getting ready to start a major new software development
initiative, and we have quite a few openings for software developers. All of our positions can be seen on
our web site at http://speakeasy.net/careers/list.php
,
listed under the Development department. We're willing to consider either
contract or direct hire for these positions.
We're basically a
Java shop, although we also have some legacy Perl code. We use Tomcat, Spring,
Hibernate, and Oracle. Our user interface is web-based. Currently we use Spring/MVC
and JSPs, but we're considering other view technologies. We're investigating
J2EE containers such as WebLogic, Websphere or JBoss, and we plan to use JMS and
XML-based web services on this project as well.
Speakeasy is a VOIP
and broadband provider with a strong emphasis on quality service and excellent
customer support. Recently, the company was acquired by Best Buy, which is
investing in expanding our services and providing increased sales opportunities
through their large retail presence. Best Buy is keeping Speakeasy largely
self-contained, so we still have a small company feel. It's a fun, informal
place to work and is located in downtown Seattle near the waterfront, which puts us in
close proximity to tons restaurants and other downtown attractions.
If you're
interested, take at look at the job listings, and apply online.
Thanks,
Keith Hamburg
