The SEABUG ( a.k.a. bsd-users ) mailing list needs a new
home !
We need someone technically competent and capable to take
over the list,
which means providing a server (preferably some flavor of
BSD, to run
mailman), Internet connectivity, administrative oversight
and the like.
If any of you are interested please let me know and we'll
take care of
the logistics. We'd like to see a commitment of at least two
years.
Some details:
We currently have 224 members about 1/3rd of which have
'nomail' set.
The list currently runs on a pretty old version of mailman
(2.0.11) and
so would naturally want to run a newer version.
Thanks!

How much bandwidth does it use up?

Next to nothing, as we always have < 50 messages per
month.

Heh. These three are probably it for the month I suppose
What about a google group? that would relieve anyone of
hosting duties...?

It does get tons of spam though :( So that will account for
some bandwidth
also.

I'd prefer to not use google, but I am open to using some
smaller, open
source friendly mailing list host.

I could host it...I run ezmlm-idx on an OpenBSD box w/spamd.
I have a decent pipe and with the traffic I've seen on this
list I'm sure I could handle it.
I'm open to it...let me know...

Thank you to everyone who responded with offers and
otherwise.
We now have a nice pool of candidates and soon will
coordinate the
transition of the SEABUG list.
Long live BSD!
