For those of you at Banff this week, we decided at the end
of the
HCLS workshop (congratulations to Kei and his group!) we
would try to
have an informal gathering here to discuss a few hot-topic
issues
including:

* converging/coordinating RDFizer activities
* identifying what it would take to move toward common data
URIs,
including reaching out to some data authorities
* sharing and comparing some core life sciences semantics
already
defined in projects (protein, publications, diseases,
pathways, etc)

I would suggest if you are interested in participating, we
meet up
after the demo (noon lunch) on Thursday at the Rundle Room
(lounge
bar with pretty view). Just drop by if you are interested in
helping
out in any of the above issues...

cheers,
Eric

Hi Eric,

Thanks for your complimemnt. It's really the help and
support provided by many
people including you, Carole, Amit, Adam, Susie, Vipul, ...
which made the
workshop successful.

Unfortunately, I have to leave Banff in the morning of
Thursday. I hope you and
others will have a good follow-up meeting. It's important to
continue the
momentum to bring SW for HCLS to the next level.

In relation to your suggested items, a number of workshop
participants have
mentioned semantic mashup and the potential development/use
of applications
like Google Earth/Map to implement the mashup ...

I have also forwarded your email to the authors/presenters
of the workshop
papers in case some of them might not have subscribed to the
HCLS mailing list.

Cheers,

-Kei

Eric,

Just like Kei, I will not be able to join you guys for
lunch.
It will be great if someone could summarize these
discussions for the rest of
the group!

I think the above suggestion is very good! Would like to
propose that we extend
the above to "core healthcare semantics" as well!

Thanks and Regards,

---Vipul
