Job Description
Join Apple's Internet applications team, within the Information Systems and Technology group, as a Project Lead. Be involved in challenging and fast paced projects supporting Apple's retail business by delivering Java based IS Systems.
Under limited supervision, lead a small to medium team in a cross-functional environment to deliver quality and creative solutions that meet business goals within time and budget. The candidate will be responsible to work with business and technical teams during the full life-cycle development process. The candidate will work with the business teams on understanding business requirements and defining the scope. In addition, lead and guide the technical team on functional design to define and enforce productive level of efficiency as well as ensure that the appropriate approach is followed to minimize impacts to future upgrades while maintaining consistency throughout the design.
The candidate is expected to be self-motivated, pro-active and solution-oriented, and act as a liaison between various functional units.
Desired Education & Skill Set
- BS degree in computer science or information management plus 5-7 years lead or management experience, or MS degree plus 3-5 years experience, or equivalent
- Application development and design experience delivering real world client/server applications using structured methodologies
- Strong background in Java technologies
- Experience with Oracle 9i/10g, UNIX shell and scripting
- Strong ability to learn new technology in a short time
- Prior experience in leading a technical team to deliver quality implementations
- Experience in retail processing system desired.
- Good communication skills
