You can use a cross over cable to connect the two machines. A router or
hub can also be used to connect them. If you select the hub or cross
over cable, you will need to set up Internet Connection Sharing (ICS).

All I would need is a cross over cable (and ICS)...no other hardware
with it? Sounds like a simple solution...thanks for your advice!
