I don't know if it's just me, but I'm finding working with Linux very close
to learning a foreign language with no seeming logic.

My recent experiences with trying to get Ubuntu to work with an older
Viewsonic LCD monitor (VA520) have the stuff of many expressions of
exasperation. My wife says I can't play with it around the grandkids if it
causes the type of language she hears...

Unless you need to enter static IP addresses.... that was a total
frickin nightmare!

I found Fedora Core much easier to setup with my Static IP's.

The most recent Ubuntu that just came out last month, 8.04, has much
better support for auto-detection of hardware. Did you have a problem
with this one? If so, what exactly was the problem?

Typing to you from an Ubuntu 8.04 laptop right now,
