Hi, "Dump" is a term which means to download or backup information.
the information that is stored in the monitor can be accessed to make a
backup .DAT file by using the Sony DAS program. alot of ppl don't know
that they can access this info simply by using an RS232 interface cable.
which can be made by using 2 transistors and few resistors or by using
an RS232 chip and few capacitors.
I have the a version of the DAS program aquired from the web that
doesn't need any security key, and by using only the .sfd info file
which is to be used with the 17SF2(X-2 chassis) can then be used to
download/upload this information,,as well as be used to fix any
geometry, color, etc. conditions that cannot be adjusted via the user
controls ..The monitor i need this info for has had the MPU chip
changed anytime this chip is changed all internal info has to be
reuploaded to the monitor,which could have been done is the chip wasn't
shorted 
So if anyone has a good working 17SF2 chassis that has or even had a
good picture i need the info from the unit....the unit doesn't even
need to work..you can still access this info from a dead unit..you need
only to apply +5 to the right pin at the access port inside the monitor
and +5 to the RS232 interface and you can then upload or download this
info
If anyone would like more info and think they can help me out i'll
upload everything to the files area.
I could do all the adjustments from start to finish if i had the proper
pattern gen , but i can't afford it..so this is my only other option
