I realise that I will have to set the wireless at their house but I would like to see it connected here before I go to theirs and struggle with it. I did connect it wired first at their place and went into the routers settings and put their details in but still no wireless connection. Thats why Im thinking maybe Ive missed something. I was lost not being able to open windows wireless (where you tell it to search for available networks in area). Windows 2000 doesn't seem to have this option unless Im looking in the wrong place for it. I also have a spare BtHomeHub, I have the installation disk with that, could I use the installation disk even though they're not with Bt? Maybe this would help. Another thing that they told me on the Edimax (Router) website is that you have to make sure the router is set to 'WEP' and not 'WPA' could this be my problem. I know my router (netgear) here at home is WPA-Personal. Im not over knowledgeable with setting this up and usuall y end up at theirs for hours, this is why I was trying to see it working here first.

Many thanks for your help,

Gail

must have an Ethernet cable connection to their Router in the first
instance and go online to the routers web site to set up their ISP
connection and then the wireless settings are feed in with security
codes. Once that is done they can disconnect the cable and use the
wireless which will call for the code. This can be then set as auto
log-in.

FYI, your working with this issue might get resolved by doing the
hardwire/ethernet at their home, then calling Their ISP with help for the
wifi. Win2k and their older hardware, may not meet spec's for Their ISP to
use wifi, where tech support from their ISP will know or get this up.

GoodLuck.... think you questioned to use another ISP or Router/Hub setup
disk. I would NOT go that way.

Another thing I can't understand, when at my house, why don't I get
asked for my wireless setting - wep code etc? Im used to XP and when
you turn on a wireless enabled pc with xp, it picks up a wireless
signal and asks for the codes. I get nothing with w2k! ???
