Is there a way to eliminate this darn logging in each and every boot?
I am the only user and the only possible user. So why must there be
a log in? I never put in a password in the first place. I merely
return to bypass this login request. I know it is only a small step
of returning but why in heck is it necessary. My neighbor doesn't
have to do this. The computer boots up all the way to the desktop.
We don't know why his doesn't requrie a log in and mine does. Both
are XP pro.

Yes, follow Jims post going through Control Panel. FWIW, I hit enter also,
but on pourpose, so if I get hacked, they can not restart the PC, as they
can not use Enter/Return. Also so I know something did this, like M$
ForceWare updates, as I've updates turned off. Also to then see if this PC
has been Hijacked.

hello Jules,
go to Start> Control Panel> User Accounts>
then go to "change the way users log on"
and select what you want it to do.
