Thanks Roger for answering back!

I have followed the LU1812 and LU1806 instructions on the
website (step by
step, believe me) but is always recommending one of two
things: rebooting
and run LiveUpdate again or to reinstall the whole Norton
SystemWorks
Application.

Peter,

Go to the Symantec site and search for the LU#### codes.
Even though
they don't support this version the tech documents are
still there and
will usually walk you through fixing the source of the
codes.

I ran into similar problems with Symantec when I was trying
to renew my
subscription, so I gave it up as a bad job and went with the
free [for
personal use] version of Grisoft's AVG. (This on my PC at
home so it is
for personal use.)

This reminds of when McAfee crippled their AV software,
which originally
had lifetime virus updates, so that everyone would upgrade
to the newer
software which would only carry updates for a year.

Usually Symantec will provide a tool that does a complete
removal of
their package. I had to use this on my wife's PC when the
upgrade from
one year to another didn't work quite right.
